What's new, pussyhat?

So, I have made my first unnecessary purchase of the year. It was an exhausting, vacillating, guilt ridden thing, yet I still did it. I bought pink yarn, made in, no, not China, but Turkey. So at least I've got that.

The purchase was actually spurred by Angus saying he wanted to wear a "pussyhat" to show his solidarity with the women's march in the States. I thought it was a great idea.

I did look to see if I had any pink yarn stashed somewhere, but no luck. It's not a colour I normally gravitate to. I tend to be a muted, earthy colour person, or on the opposite end, black.

Interestingly, my taste in colour changed when I moves to Saskatchewan. In Montreal, I was into bright colours; mostly reds and purples, matched with black. I even sported a jet black bob and wore bright red lipstick for a while. Over time, my wardrobe began to take on the colours of the prairies. I love the lovely dusty hues of the landscape in the fall.

Anyhoo, I think this purchase can be said to be mindful. I did think about it a lot.

I think I bought enough to make 3 or 4 hats. Anyone want one?
